South African Ring Tones

www.Ring-Tones.co.za - Drawing upon the accolades of its highly regarded L'Amour Collection, Nokia has joined creative forces with talented fashion designer Giambattista Valli to craft the Nokia 7373 Special Edition. For this one-of-a-kind cooperation between a thriving creator of new designs and the pioneer in mobile fashion accessories, Nokia returns to the style capital of Paris during Fashion Week. Here the efforts to fuse fashion with mobility began in 1999 with the introduction of the Nokia 8210.

"I was intrigued by the inspiration to define the mobile phone as a fashion accessory," explains Giambattista Valli. "Like a dress, shoes and jewelry, the Nokia 7373 Special Edition phones follow the theme of my collection and I immediately imagined them as silhouettes dressed in my work. Depending on your mood, you swap bags and transfer the contents. Amazing to see how Nokia has applied this idea to the world of mobility. Just swap SIM cards from one mobile phone to another to match your personal style."

A true fashion phone, the Nokia 7373 Special Edition combines the splendor of the L'Amour Collection and the trendsetting talent of Giambattista Valli. The Nokia 7373 Special Edition comes in two contemporary colors, both enticingly paired with signature Giambattista Valli phone accessories. The Nokia 7373 Special Edition Powder Pink marries the faded luxury of grand architecture of the L'Amour Collection with Valli's iconic pearl necklace for a strap and a miniature pink skull. This unique set is Valli's interpretation of the contradictory elements of an intensive romance. The Nokia 7373 Special Edition Black Chrome fuses its elegant glossy black appearance with an en vogue gros grain and onyx-like crystal strap. A black skull adds the finishing touches to a sensually appealing display of fashion.

For style-conscious consumers, the Nokia 7373 Special Edition resembles a beautifully designed invitation into the world of catwalks and glamour. The Nokia 7373 Special Edition grants its owner an exclusive glimpse into the world of Giambattista Valli. Each handset comes pre-loaded with a "backstage pass" - a "behind the scenes" video - setting the mood for a glance into the life and inspiration of Giambattista Valli. The footage is complemented by a selection of matching Valli wallpapers, graphics and the exclusive ringtone "Rhodium", available only on the Nokia 7373 Special Edition.

The Nokia 7373 Special Edition will be unveiled during Paris Fashion Week at the "Dress your Nokia in Giambattista Valli" party.

Sony Ericsson at 3GSM World Congress 2007

Permalink 03:00:51 pm, Categories: Sony Ericsson

South African Ring Tones

3GSM World Congress, Barcelona, Spain – 11th February 2007 – Sony Ericsson arrives at this year’s 3GSM Congress closely following a series of announcements that enforce the company’s clear ambition to make it the aspirational and accessible choice for millions more mobile phone users worldwide.

Sony Ericsson president Miles Flint comments: “In our first five years we have successfully established ourselves as an aspirational brand in the mobile phone market. We continue to build on this with products such as the W880, a super-slim, high performance 3G Walkman®, that will begin to ship this month. We know what consumers want. With recent announcements of more mid- and low-end handsets such as the K550 Cyber-shot™ and the W200 Walkman® phone, we are now making the Sony Ericsson brand accessible to a wider range of consumers. We aim to make the Sony Ericsson experience aspirational at all price points in the portfolio, from high-end phones to our new talk and text phones, the J110, J120, K200 and K220 models.”

2006 was a record year for sales, net income and profit for Sony Ericsson. The company sold 60 million music enabled phones, 17 million of which were Walkman® handsets. In the same period, 4.5 million Cyber-shot™ phones were sold. Since the beginning of the year Sony Ericsson has made a series of announcements that build on the momentum of 2006, with nine new handsets for the GSM market, and in Japan NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced two new phones by Sony Ericsson, including the first BRAVIA brand handset which delivers mobile TV functionality. Sony Ericsson has also announced its first HSDPA product, the Tri-Band HSDPA/UMTS and Quad-Band EDGE/GPRS PC300 Mobile Broadband PC Card for laptops, and a host of new accessories that enable consumers to enhance their experience of entertainment and communications on the move.

Making phones available at lower price points requires improvements in cost efficiencies at high production volumes while protecting quality. To this end, at the end of January Sony Ericsson announced it plans to manufacture mobile phones in Chennai, India in partnership with Flextronics and Foxconn, its global outsourcing manufacturing partners. This will enable Sony Ericsson to offer appealing products at even more competitive price points, especially at the lowest end of the portfolio.

Shortly before 3GSM World Congress Sony Ericsson completed its acquisition of the Swedish software company UIQ Technology AB from Symbian Ltd following full regulatory ratification. The company plans to give more details on its strategy for the development of UIQ Technology during 3GSM.

Miles Flint concludes: “We have started 2007 in a very strong position, announcing more new products at a wider range of price points than ever before this early in the year. Looking ahead, we fully expect millions more people to enjoy the benefits of the Sony Ericsson brand, making us well placed to gain further market share this year.”

South African Ring Tones

Nokia President and CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo reinforced the company's commitment to lead the next phase of mobility and unveiled a new line up of devices and services that harness internet connectivity and will begin to transform how people use mobility in their professional and personal lives.

Speaking at the Nokia Press Conference at the show, Kallasvuo said "The worlds of mobility and the internet are merging, but as an industry we are still only scratching the surface of the possibilities this offers. Nokia is driving the change, taking a lead in harnessing this new connectivity in ways that will transform how we use mobile devices for work and in our personal lives. The products we are launching today reflect some key areas that we believe will become part of this new connected life and where we will start to see much more widespread adoption."

Taking business mobility to the next level
Centre stage in Nokia's news today are a series of new announcements focused on removing the barriers to widespread adoption of business mobility, and making it easier and more compelling for business customers and operators to benefit from it.

The company announced a trio of new Nokia Eseries devices, designed for business professionals, including the slim line Nokia E61i emailer device, the stylish Nokia E65 slider, and an evolution of the legendary communicator into an all inclusive business device with advanced technologies, such as HSDPA and integrated GPS, the Nokia E90 Communicator.

Each is a feature packed, design rich device using 3G and Wlan technologies, and the flexible S60 software platform, to enhance the way people experience work in a mobile world. The devices also feature high-quality cameras.

Nokia E65 is available now in select markets, with broader availability building during the first quarter of 2007. Nokia E61i will be available during the second quarter of 2007, and the first deliveries of the Nokia E90 Communicator are anticipated to take place during the second quarter of 2007, with volume global availability during third quarter of 2007.

The company also announced the launch of Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite 8.0 mobileware, the industry's most flexible platform, providing mobile email, mobile file and data synchronization and robust security and device management capabilities to the Nokia Eseries products and more than 100 other devices - the most extensive support in the industry. New or enhanced features include a two-tier licensing model, a new user interface, further strengthened mobile security capabilities, and extensive additional language and connectivity support.

Navigation set to become a mainstream feature
Recognizing the huge potential of location based services, one of the fastest growing areas in mobile devices, Nokia released its first mass market navigation-enabled mobile phone, the Nokia 6110 Navigator.

Using integrated GPS, the phone enables consumers to quickly and easily view their current location on map, search for destinations, find specific routes, or locate nearby services such as restaurants, hotels or shops. Featuring full turn-by-turn 3D navigation, it suggests the best route to follow by car or on foot, using voice or visual instructions on a map. The Nokia 6110 Navigator is expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2007.

Accelerating mobile TV adoption
Kallasvuo also unveiled the Nokia N77 multimedia computer designed to accelerate the take up of DVB-H mobile TV devices, a market he predicted would reach between 5 to 10 million units by end of 2008 and around 20 million units by the end of 2009.

The Nokia N77 is an easy to use and stylishly mobile TV device. Features include a wide 2.4" screen with up to 16 million colors, high quality stereo sound, alerts when programs are starting, and a guide to view program information for up to seven days, browse TV channels, and purchase new channels. It is expected to start shipping during the second quarter of 2007 in countries where DVB-H services are available.

Building on the importance of Internet video content, Nokia also launched the Nokia Video Center, an application that brings together all the sources of mobile video, and announced YouTube and Reuters as the first global content partners. The service combines branded video services, internet videos and sideloaded videos from the PC in one single place. It will be available globally in the markets where Nokia Nseries devices are sold, preinstalled first in the Nokia N95 multimedia computer and available for download to other Nokia Nseries multimedia computers.

Also at the 3GSM show, Nokia introduced the new Nokia 3110 classic, a robust and dependable device with a contemporary design. With applications including an FM stereo radio, music player with expandable memory, video ringing tones and a 1.3 megapixel camera, the Nokia 3110 classic offers a wide range of conventional features at an accessible price. It is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2007.

The Kit offers a number of elements that enable easy in-car communications including a large color screen for easy usage and viewing. It is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2007.

Motorola goes green

Permalink 06:51:25 am, Categories: Motorola

South African Ring Tones

Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced that it has signed an agreement with the GSM Association (GSMA) and MTC Namibia to conduct a trial for wind and solar power systems to support the African operator's remote GSM cell sites. This is the first customer based trial globally and the trial is expected to run from April 2007 to July 2007.

The trial involves the installation of the Motorola wind and solar solution at an operational MTC Namibia cell site where the solution will become the electrical power source for the site. The cell site will remain a part of MTC Namibia's current wireless network and continue to carry the same levels of traffic.

This 'green' solution provides a feasible and efficient alternative to using fuel generators when a main grid connection is not available or it will take months or years to connect or finally, where electricity tariffs are expected to rise sharply in the next few years. Once installed, the cost of power is almost zero, and wind and solar powered cell sites require minimal maintenance unlike a diesel driven generator, which generally requires, at a minimum, a monthly visit for refueling and they can also be heavily prone to theft. This translates into added savings in operating expenditure (OPEX), a key factor to emerging market network operators.

Mr. Jose Ferreira, managing director of MTC Namibia said, "We are confident that this trial will support our market growth strategy and enable us to extend our network coverage into the more rural parts of Namibia -- where electricity is not always a viable option -- quickly, efficiently and with a reliable solution. Motorola's innovation and design expertise will enable wind and solar solutions to be deployed in an optimal format for wireless cellular networks."

Dawn Hartley, development fund manager at the GSMA said: "Off-grid connectivity is a key challenge for Operators, in particular in developing world markets, and until cost-effective, practical solutions are commonplace, the digital divide will persist. The GSMA is therefore committed to piloting alternative energies for powering base stations, and we are delighted to be involved in this trial in Namibia."

Stefano Mattiello, regional sales director, Sub-Saharan Africa, Motorola Networks & Enterprise, said, "Motorola's heritage in innovative communication networks is being applied in optimizing this type of solution for rural areas and it's very exciting that we have the first trial anywhere in the world here in Africa. The solution will successfully combine with other power optimization features for GSM cell sites that are currently in development and although the trial is being done on a GSM network the technology can be applied to any wireless network in an off-grid scenario."

This announcement follows Motorola's successful UK trial in 2006 which demonstrated the feasibility of alternative power systems to support remote GSM base stations (BTS). The trial concluded that a combination of solar cells and wind turbines can generate 1,200 watts in a continual cycle; enough to drive a mid-sized BTS and support a microwave backhaul installation.

Powering GSM cell sites in both developed and emerging markets is a challenge for operators because of the high cost or difficulty of provisioning mains electrical power. Motorola's green-powered BTS, part of the company's Reach GSM portfolio, can replace or reduce the load on mains power and can also remove the need for power generators that require continual re-fueling and security.

Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and Sprint (NYSE: S) today announced a milestone in contributions from sales of the RED MOTORAZR V3m. To date, sales of the wireless phone designed to help eliminate AIDS in Africa can cover the annual cost of antiretroviral (ARV) treatment for AIDS for more than 12,000 people.

(RED) was founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver to raise awareness and money for the fight against AIDS in Africa. The groundbreaking initiative engages the private sector to create (PRODUCT) RED-branded products and deliver a portion of the profits directly to The Global Fund to invest in African AIDS programs with an emphasis on the health of women and children.

Free Downloadable Maps

Permalink 08:44:24 am, Categories: Nokia

South African Ring Tones

Nokia today announced that it is making its smart2go mapping and navigation platform, available for free download (www.smart2go.com), enabling millions of people to use the most comprehensive map coverage offered on a mobile device. The platform allows for mapping and routing in over 150 countries and has support for full turn-by-turn satellite navigation in over 30 countries. The application allows people to view where they are on a map, search for points-of-interests (POI) around them and create routes to get them there free of charge. Nokia plans to start offering the smart2go application for free, on Saturday, February 10th, for selected Nokia S60 and Windows Mobile 5.0 devices initially and has plans to roll out support for most of the major mobile OS platforms including Nokia S60, Series 40, PocketPC, Linux and other Windows Mobile devices.

Nokia plans to pre-install the smart2go mapping and navigation application on all future Nokia Nseries multimedia computers under the name "Nokia Maps". Current owners of Nokia devices may also download Nokia Maps to their supported devices. And now, by paring your non-GPS enabled mobile device with a Nokia Wireless GPS Module LD-3W or other compatible GPS module, Nokia Maps can provide the same fantastic navigation experience for a broad range of Nokia devices.

The platform contains over 15 million POIs that help people explore the most interesting sights, restaurants or accommodations around them. Customers can select their favorite locations and send them to friends by multimedia message, Bluetooth wireless technology, infrared or e-mail. They can also send map excerpts and routes or save map screen shots to the gallery on the device. Recognized brand names like McDonald's will have the option to place branded icons across the world's digital maps downloaded onto millions of mobile devices.

"People will trust and use maps if they have those maps with them when they need them, and smart2go allows consumers the full freedom of which maps they want to carry with them. By offering Nokia Maps and smart2go for free on your mobile device, cost is no longer a barrier for anyone to enjoy the convenience of maps and routing on-the-go," said Ralph Eric Kunz, vice-president, Nokia, Multimedia. "Nokia is on track to build the world's most connected location based platform for mobile devices which also opens up interesting opportunities for future services."

smart2go is a hybrid map solution: Map data from Tele-Atlas and Navteq can be downloaded directly via wireless network (e.g. GPRS/3G/WLAN) and stored on the devices memory card as needed. If all the desired map data is stored, no network connection is needed for mapping, routing and navigation. For managing downloads of bigger sizes there is an additional PC desktop tool available.

smart2go comes with the option to upgrade to full fledged turn-by-turn navigation. With just some clicks, customers can turn their device into a voice guided navigation system by purchasing a navigation license. There are various licenses available: from a one week to a three year term. When traveling to a new country for holiday one can download the relevant maps via PC in advance and subscribe to the navigation service for the duration of the holiday at affordable cost.

About the "smart2go" mapping and routing application
smart2go is new: the software turns mobile computers, smartphones and PDAs into local mapping and routing engines with a navigation option, providing worldwide mapping free of charge. In so doing, the unique hybrid solution combines the advantages of on-board and off-board navigation. Maps and location-aware content only need to be loaded once - they are then always available on the client. As smart2go will carry the application name "Nokia Maps" across many future Nokia devices, it will also be available for a diversity of other operating systems such as Windows Mobile 5 and Linux, in the future.

Two new Cyber-shot phones.

Permalink 12:27:43 pm, Categories: Sony Ericsson

South African Ring Tones

Soon after announcing it has shipped 4.5 million of its Cyber-shot™ camera phones since the launch of the K790/K800 last summer, Sony Ericsson today introduces two new phones to the Cyber-shot™ phone family. Intended to deliver Cyber-shot™ phones to a broader audience, these phones help make sure you never miss a shot.

The K810/K818 Cyber-shot™ phone is a sleek, high-performance device boasting a 3.2 megapixel camera including auto focus and Xenon flash. Innovative applications such as Photo fix help to further improve the quality of your pictures, even after you have taken them. Illuminated Camera Icons to the side of the main keypad, which light up when in camera mode, allow the user to access camera menu options at the touch of a button.

As a compliment to this, the K550 Cyber-shot™ phone delivers the benefits of the Cyber-shot™ phone in a compact (14mm thin) form factor that places ease-of-use at its heart. Equipped with a 2.0 megapixel camera with auto focus plus LED photo light and active lens cover, the K550 helps ensure that you’re always ready to shoot and share the best possible images. Add to this Bluetooth™ technology and Picture blogging and you have a camera phone that takes the complexity out of sharing quality images with friends and family.

As a distinct variant of the K550, the K550im is the first Cyber-shot™ phone to support i-mode™, the operator service that gives direct access to a huge range of multimedia content and email.

Sony Ericcson K810i“Worldwide, consumers are realising that the best digital camera is the one you have with you,” says Steve Walker, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “The K800 established this and positioned the Cyber-shot™ phone as a credible fusion of phone and camera. Now the K810 and K550 move the market forward by introducing new applications that equate to real improvements in the customer experience, as well as introducing these phones to a whole new audience.”

The K810 will appeal to those using their mobile phone on a regular basis to capture quality shots while on the move. Its slender good looks belie its high specification; it’s not only a UMTS device for high-speed Picture blogging, but also one of the most advanced camera phones available. When in camera mode, the Xenon flash with red eye reduction will help to achieve great picture results in low-light conditions. Equally, the new illuminated Camera Icons will allow the user to select advanced camera settings (such as picture size & self timer) by simply clicking on one of the hardkeys; so no need to navigate into the full camera menu and risk missing that special shot.

No longer do poor light conditions and lack of contrast mean that the user has to delete that special picture. If a photo needs some improvement after it has been taken, then the new Photo fix solution can optimise brightness & picture contrast at the touch of a button. Meanwhile, if a user is shooting a moving object (perhaps at a sporting event), then the BestPic™ feature will let them take nine photos in quick succession and simply choose the best one. No point in missing the action.

Sharing your pictures is easily done with the K810 Cyber-shot™ phone thanks to a host of connectivity options: Picture Blogging allows you to upload your shots to your own blog site, whilst Bluetooth™ technology and USB 2.0 make it straightforward to share photos with friends or connect to your PC.

The K810 Cyber-shot™ phone is a UMTS 2100 (GSM 900/1800/1900) device available within Q2 2007. In addition, the K818 is a GSM variant intended specifically for China where 3G services are not established. Both will be available in two stylish colours: Noble Blue and Golden Ivory.

Sony Ericcson K550i
Sony Ericcson K550i - an intuitive integration of highly-specified digital camera with a mobile phone.

Even if you are new to camera phone photography or the Cyber-shot™ phone menu, the new K550 is designed to be an intuitive integration of highly-specified digital camera with a mobile phone. Simply by sliding open the lens cover, the camera is activated and the Cyber-shot™ menu appears in the phone’s screen, which at 1.9” serves as a clear viewfinder.

And, once an image has been captured, sharing it can be done in a number of ways, each one a simple process; Picture blogging again makes it simple to send images to a blog site; support for Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) allows the user to transfer images easily between compatible devices and Bluetooth™ 2.0 provides for simple sharing with other phones and Bluetooth-equipped devices. If a user wishes to print out their latest holiday pictures, PictBridge makes it possible to print directly via USB (provided in-box) from the K550 to a compatible printer; cutting out the computer and the complexity.

As the first Cyber-shot™ phone to support i-mode™, the K550im (distinct from the standard K550) gives the user access to a world of Internet content and email at the touch of a button. Following on from the popular K610im model, the K550im delivers a rich experience for handling imail, browsing the Internet and viewing content; all with the superior imaging capabilities synonymous with Cyber-shot™ phones.

Available in Jet Black or Pearl White, the K550 Cyber-shot™ phone is guaranteed to stand out from the crowd. A Quad-Band EDGE device launching in selected markets from Q1 2007.

Add more to your memories

Announcing at the same time as these latest Cyber-shot™ phones are two new optional accessories, designed to let the user manage their calls and their photos with ease. The Desk Stand CDS-65 allows the user to speedily transfer photographs between phone and PC via USB, or simply to synchronise data between the two while charging the phone. Attach a portable handsfree and the user can enjoy voice conversations while transferring images and music. Ideal for a home or office environment and available from Q2 2007.

For those who are regularly using their Cyber-shot™ phone (or compatible Bluetooth™ phone, Sony Ericsson or otherwise) on the move, the Bluetooth™ Car Speakerphone HCB-120 attaches effortlessly to a car’s sun visor and provides for safer handsfree calling. With a digital display to show who is calling, and leading talk/stand-by times (up to 24 and 450 hours respectively), this speakerphone is a perfect compliment for the Bluetooth™ functionality in K550 & K810, and is compact enough for regular use in the car, office or home. A built-in tilt sensor ensures that the display reads the right way up.

The HCB-120 will be available from Q2 2007.

Multi-talented W610 Walkman® phones RELEASED

Permalink 12:02:23 pm, Categories: Sony Ericsson

South African Ring Tones

Sony Ericsson today announces two new Walkman® phones; the W880/W888 and W610 build on the success of hit-models such as the W810 and to broaden the appeal of the Walkman® phone. 20 million Walkman® phones have been sold to date. Sony Ericsson also announces a suite of music accessories designed to enhance the Walkman® phone listening experience.

At just 9.4mm thin, the W880/W888 is the slimmest Sony Ericsson phone yet and combines the full Walkman® phone experience with a device that fits easily into your pocket. The 1GB Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) provided in-box gives you room to store up to 900 full length tracks*, whilst the host of innovative music applications (such as Walkman® Player 2.0 & Disc2Phone) make it easy to get music onto your phone in the first place & search through play lists once its there. All of this, plus a 2.0 megapixel camera, is packed into a UMTS phone that’s as slim as a standard CD case.

The W610 Walkman® phone is all about the detail, whether this is detail in design that builds on the look of earlier Walkman® phones or the detailed combination of mobile music with a credible digital camera. The W610 stores up to 470 full-length music tracks* on the 512MB Memory Stick Micro™ (M2) provided, and offers the inventive TrackID™ music recognition application; a feature that lets the user record a clip of an unknown music track onto their phone and immediately receive a notification of the track name, artist and album. Add to this a 2.0 megapixel camera with auto focus and the W610 is a credible fusion of phone, music player & digital camera.

Sony Ericcson W880“Our Walkman phones have proven to be phenomenally attractive to our consumers – we have sold 20 million Walkman® phones since launch – and we are continuously developing the portfolio to extend their appeal,” says Steve Walker, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “The W880/W888 and W610 prove how the Walkman® phone can appeal to different lifestyles – the W880/W888 is a hi-specification device that looks every bit as good as it sounds. And the W610 Walkman® phone combines the best in both music player & digital camera, whilst first & foremost remaining a phone that’s intuitive and pleasurable to use.”

The W880/W888 represents a milestone in the Walkman® phone portfolio. Although without doubt one of the slimmest music phones available with a 1GB capacity, the true beauty of its design is seen in the brushed stainless steel finish and the stand-out colour variants; either Steel Silver or Flame Black.

Of course, the W880/W888 is about more than just good looks. The Disc2Phone music management software allows the user to transfer their tracks easily and with no fuss from PC straight onto the phone. With Bluetooth Audio Streaming, all of that music can be enjoyed wirelessly on a Stereo Bluetooth Headset such as the HBH-DS970, or by streaming music directly to a home or car stereo (via the new Music Bluetooth™ Receiver MBR-100). Importantly for a music phone, all of this functionality has been introduced without having to compromise on battery life. The W880/W888 delivers up to 18 hours music listening time & features a Flight Mode which allows the phone to be switched-off in mobile-prohibited environments.

The W880 Walkman® phone is a UMTS 2100 GPRS 900/1800/1900 music phone and will be available in selected markets from Q1 2007. The W888 Walkman® phone is a GSM variant, minus the video telephony functionality, intended specifically for China where 3G services are not established.

The W610 Walkman® phone is a fully specified music phone that does not compromise on its digital camera offering. As well as the 2.0 megapixel camera with auto focus, video recording and playback, the W610 provides a horizontal camera menu – so that the user holds it as they would a regular camera when taking a picture - and a Picture blogging facility for uploading photo’s direct to a user’s online blog site. Switching back to the music credentials, the W610 includes an RDS FM Radio to brighten up the daily commute or trip to the gym. In fact, the only compromise with the W610 Walkman® phone is choosing between the two colour options; will it be Plush Orange or Satin Black?

Sony Ericsson today announces four new 'candy bar' phones that make it simple to stay in touch. Of the four, the K200 and K220 are both camera phones, whilst the K220 again and the J120 bring music into an affordable segment with integrated FM Radios, complete with headsets. All four, including the J110, display Sony Ericsson’s signature styling and premium feel, yet manage to keep simplicity and ease-of-use at the heart of their design.

K200

Sony Ericcson K200The K200 is all about having a camera on your phone just when you need it.

The VGA camera and photo album are immediately accessible with just one click on the dedicated button. Given that the K200 has a slideshow view and will store up to 40 images, it’s easy for users to view their pictures in full screen and share them with friends.

Navigating the phone couldn’t be easier either, as the menu can be set to a series of simple, single icons. To keep things hassle-free, the central navigation key is set-up to give one-click access to key features such as the phone book (which stores up to 300 contacts) and messaging menu. Available from Q2 2007 in selected markets in either Metallic Black or Light Champagne, the K200 allows you to always have your favourite pictures in your pocket.

K220

As with the K200, the K220 is an easy-to-use camera phone with a single icon display, but with the advantage of an integrated FM radio with RDS. Perfect for those quieter moments, the K220 can store up to 10 pre-set stations so there is no need to hunt around when it’s time to change channels. It will even provide a wake-up call since a favourite station can be set on the Radio Alarm Clock.

Choose your station and choose your colour; the K220 comes in two striking finishes - Frost White or Ocean Blue. The K220 will be available in selected from Q2 2007.

J110

Keeping in touch is made straightforward with the J110, a classic ‘candy bar’ phone with large, legible keys and easy navigation. A central navigation key with clear icons gives one-click access to commonly used features such as the text message menu, ring volume and alarm clock. Navigation through the menu options is easy thanks to the single-icon display, and J110 has enough stamina and storage to keep you in touch however busy you are, giving up to nine hours’ talk time and room for up to 200 phone numbers.

A robust, solid phone with chrome detail and a bright 65k colour STN screen, The J110 will be available in selected markets from Q2 2007 in three distinct colours: Soft Cream, Smooth Grey or Precious Purple.

J120

J120 has the same easy to use features as J110, such as a single-icon menu and one-click access, with the added benefit of a built-in FM Radio that allows you to store up to 10 favourite channels plus a stereo headset that’s supplied with the phone. When it’s time to share the radio play-list with a wider audience, the J120 features a loudspeaker through which the radio can be played. This can also be used as a speakerphone when you tire of the radio and decide to call a friend.

This compact and striking phone, finished in Night Black with ‘FM Radio’ detail, really stands out from the crowd. The J120 will be available in selected markets from Q2 2007.

The future Nokia Siemens Networks

Nokia and Siemens announced today that they would start sharing the proposed product portfolio plan for the future Nokia Siemens Networks with employees and customers starting in early February. As a result, Nokia and Siemens will immediately begin the process of sharing the proposed future product portfolio information with employee representatives.

“As we continue to make strong progress in integration planning for Nokia Siemens Networks, it is critical that we are able to maintain the strong support that we have seen so far from customers by providing them with clarity about our future portfolio plans,” said Simon Beresford-Wylie, CEO-designate of Nokia Siemens Networks. “Sharing that information now is also in the best interests of employees so we are able to ensure the strongest possible start for Nokia Siemens Networks. While the portfolio plans are still subject to input from customers and employee consultation processes, we believe that we will be ideally positioned to provide best-in-class products and services for the converging telecommunications world.”

Planning is still underway to assess the personnel, site and country-level impact of the proposed product portfolio plan as well as expected transition times and requirements for ongoing support for existing products. As planning proceeds related to the personnel implications of the proposed portfolio plans, those implications will be made available in accordance with local legal practices. The business and personnel implications are expected to be available only after the closing of Nokia Siemens Networks.

As previously announced, the synergies associated with the creation of Nokia Siemens Networks are expected to result in a headcount adjustment over the next four years of approximately 10-15 percent from the initial combined base of approximately 60,000. Actual employee reductions will only take place after the appropriate consultations are completed according to each jurisdiction’s labor law requirements and Nokia Siemens Networks has begun operations.

Nokia and Siemens have made strong progress towards the integration of Nokia Siemens Networks. The transaction has been given antitrust approval in the European Union and the United States, and the new company's global mode of operation and organizational structure have been defined. The planned merger to create Nokia Siemens Networks is expected to close in the first quarter of 2007.
