www.Ring-Tones.co.za: Today, Nokia unveiled the Nokia 2600 classic and the Nokia 1209, two mobile handsets that offer useful features, range of colors or exchangeable covers for consumers in emerging markets. Nokia 2600 classic, which will retail for approximately 65 euros before applicable taxes or subsidies, has begun shipping, ramping up in all key markets during the first quarter of 2008. Nokia 1209 will become available globally during the second quarter of 2008 and will retail for approximately 35 euros before applicable taxes or subsidies.

The highlight of today's announcement is the Nokia 2600 classic which allows consumers to customize their phone with colourful, fully changeable Xpress-on covers and MP3 ring tones. The cheerful Nokia 2600 classic also features a number of entertainment features, including an FM radio and a VGA camera.
"While cost sensitivity is an important element in creating mobile devices for emerging markets, the overwhelming feedback we receive from consumers in these markets is that they want their mobile device to complement their personality and offer a range of colours and entertainment features," says Alex Lambeek, Vice President, Entry Devices, Nokia. "The Nokia 2600 classic offers a colorful sense of flair and a robust set of features at an exceptionally accessible price. As with all Nokia devices, it is backed by a brand that stands for quality and durability."

Survey results: phone sharing in emerging markets on the rise
According to a recent Nokia survey of consumers in emerging markets, a new trend appears to be emerging: phone sharing. More than 50% of respondents in India, Pakistan and nearly 30% in Vietnam indicate that they share, or would share, their mobile phone with family or friends - a figure which contrasts consumer behaviour in more mature markets.
"Phone sharing is a logical trend - more and more families are purchasing a mobile phone for the entire family to use, not just the head of the household. In addition, digital cameras are quickly becoming more popular in these markets, and as such taking and sharing digital images is becoming more common," adds Lambeek. "In response, Nokia has developed a number of innovative features like the multiple phonebook to support phone sharing, and we have added technologies like Bluetooth to some models to make transferring images and ringtones easy and affordable."
The second model introduced today, the Nokia 1209, offers additional cost management features to make phone sharing easy and convenient. Innovations include the pre-paid tracker, a cost-tracking application, and the multiple phonebook - which allows up to five people to store personal contact lists of up to two hundred numbers on a single phone. Designed for first time buyers, the Nokia 1209 incorporates Nokia's intuitive user interface, dust resistance, and offers up to 80 languages. The Nokia 1209 also has a one-piece key mat for durability and reliability.

DLNA technology enables multi-vendor home ecosystems of consumer devices by building a common connectivity platform for a variety of multimedia experiences. The Nokia N95 8GB passed DLNA's rigorous testing process to receive the green DLNA Certified logo, a marker of its leading position in the mobile domain of the digital home.

www.Ring-Tones.co.za: Multi-tasking, or doing more than one activity at a time, is a way of life for everyone these days. Between work, family and social life, people are finding themselves busier than ever. But the results of a recent global online survey conducted by Nokia indicated that women are better at multitasking than men with 60 percent of respondents, both men and women. Only six percent of women believe that men are better at doing more than one thing at a time.
From the total of more than 5,000 respondents, 79 percent consider themselves multitaskers, with 50% describing themselves 'productive' and 31% 'busy'. The majority of men and women in the Scandinavian countries of Denmark and Norway indicated they can do several things at once. The most relaxed were the Finnish people at 74 percent.
An overwhelming 80 percent of respondents believe that having a mobile phone enables them to achieve a positive balance between their work and social life. And, while 63 percent believe they be less productive without their mobile phone, 74 percent believe it makes them better at multitasking.
"People are utilizing their mobile phones more than ever," said Dom Fried-Booth, Insights Director, Devices, Nokia. "And with all the features available on mobile phones today, including calendars, email, and text messaging, people are using them for more than just making calls. This helps some people be more productive for work and others run the family household more smoothly. Whatever the case, though, mobile phones are clearly helping people get what they want out of life."
According to the survey, mobile phones are helping people be more productive. Sixty-two percent of respondents do two or three activities while talking on their mobile phone, including internet browsing and shopping. Seventy-five percent of women said they prepare food and 50 percent put on makeup while using their mobile phone.
Although the majority of respondents claimed they do more than one thing at a time while on their mobile phone, 48 percent indicated the call was their main focus. When asked what was the most fun activity to do while on their mobile phone, most said "being in bed," although no more specifics were given.
Multitasking while on your mobile phone can certainly lead to amusing situations. Forty-seven percent of respondents to the Nokia survey indicated that they have sent a romantic or controversial text message to the wrong person and 56 percent of women did that.
The multitasking survey was conducted online through nokia.com between October 15 and November 1, 2007 by Illuminas and was conducted in the United Kingdom, Spain, Finland, Italy, China, Brazil, Germany, Denmark, France, USA, Sweden and Norway.
Nokia has undertaken the industry's most comprehensive consumer survey, compiling more than 10 billion data points from 77 000 consumer interviews in 21 countries resulting in a unique, in-depth understanding of consumers' values, beliefs and attitudes. This insight guides Nokia's activities from product development and design through marketing and sales.

www.Ring-Tones.co.za: Helsinki, Finland and Beijing, China - Nokia's "Project 95" will take Peter Schindler - a seasoned traveler - on a 20,000-plus kilometer, Nokia-solely-sponsored, road-trip across China. Peter will be equipped with various Nokia Nseries devices, most notably the Nokia N95. He will keep a record of his excursions by maintaining a mobile blog that shares his thoughts and images taken through his Nokia N95, which can access the internet anytime and anywhere.
"I am looking forward to this adventure, driving across China," said Peter, who has traveled by himself over one million kilometers throughout Europe, the United States, and Asia. "I am eager to explore the modern lives of Chinese people; their thoughts on life and their expectactions for the future. The Nokia N95 will allow me to share my experiences with people around the world."
The Nokia N95 will be Peter's most important and powerful partner. The Nokia Nseries flagship device was launched in September 2006 and will debut in China in May 2007. The all-in-one multimedia computer features an innovative 2-way slide design, an integrated Carl Zeiss five megapixel camera, GPS* and multimedia player. The device features a large 2.6", 16.7-million-color QVGA display - allowing users to watch and record videos, listen to music, take high-quality photos, browse the internet, use instant communication, search on the internet, and access e-mail while on the move.
"Project 95" will also raise funds for the China Youth Development Fundation (CYDF) to support sports and education programs for children in remote regions. When the trip ends, Nokia will put the car that Peter drives for auction, the Caterham Superlight R300 sports car - proceeds will be donated to the CYDF. The public can also contribute donations through various channels during the road trip.
"It is more than just a road trip. It is a journey to discover a real and modern China," said Dan Wong, Vice President, Sales and Channel Management, Multimedia, China Area. "This very spirit of discovering reflects the essence and capabilities of Nokia Nseries multimedia computers." Peter's 95-day adventure will cover 20 provinces and municipalities across China.
Please visit project95.sina.com.cn for updates regarding Peter's adventure. Peter will also share pictures and videos with netizens - taken with his Nokia Nseries devices.
Netizens can also actively participate in the journey: they can advise a route for Peter, ask Peter to deliver personal greetings to friends, and vote on a name for Peter's car, among other things - all through project95.sina.com.cn.
Peter will commence his journey in Shanghai on May 9 and conclude the trip in Beijing on August 12.
